World Food Safety Day 2025 Symposium for Next Gen Food Safety Practitioners

To celebrate World Food Safety Day on 7 June, four EU-funded projects — FS4Africa (Food Safety for Africa), UP-RISE (EU-AU Partnership for Resilient, Inclusive and Safe Food Systems for Everyone), HD4A (Healthy Diets 4Africa), and FCI4Africa (Fair Food and Trade Systems for Africa) — co-organised a two-day online event aimed at young and early-stage researchers from European and African universities. The goal was to highlight the important role that science plays in building food safety systems in Africa.
With over 200 registrations, the event aligned with this year’s theme, Food Safety: Science in Action. It emphasised how scientific knowledge supports the prevention, detection, and management of foodborne risks, ultimately safeguarding human health and promoting safe food systems.
